Detail: Procore Construction Project Management Software Directory

Procore's Directory tool stores all of the contact data for project team members and project vendors. The Directory also enables permissions to be set at the tool level of Procore, so that all of your Procore users only have the access levels and tools you want them to have.

Procore can store an unlimited number of contacts in its database -- and once entered, those contacts can be assigned to any project in your organization's project portfolio. Make email information and important phone numbers instantly available to your team by storing them in Procore. Users of Procore's mobile apps for Android and iPhone can also access Directory data from their smartphones, without having to enter contact data onto their personal devices. Once a contact is stored in Procore, that information can be shared between team members. Team members can also ensure that their own contact data is kept up-to-date by logging into Procore and editing information as necessary.

Procore's Directory manages permissions for the members of your Procore project teams. Access permissions in Procore construction project management software can be set for every user, down to the individual Procore tool level on specific projects. This means that you have the ability to grant full read/write access to a sub-contractor on one project, and at the same time make sure that the same individual does not have access to any other projects. For even more precise permission administration, a specific user can be granted access to one Procore tool on a project, such as the Document Management tool, yet never even see that tool on a different project they have access to. With Procore, user administration is infinitely configurable and customizable, for every user on each project.

Best of all, configuring user permissions in Procore construction project management software is simple and straightforward. Company and Project Administrators use Procore's Directory tool to set all user permissions with a few clicks. Procore allows for the easy creation of custom role-based permission templates, so that new users can be set up with your organization's standard permissions in seconds. Roles such as sub-contractors, architects, and engineers can all be custom-defined and then applied to project team members' permissions as new people join your project team during the course of a construction project.

Procore construction software provides for four basic types of user permissions: None (no access); Read-Only; Standard; and Administrator. Standard-level users can both read information in Procore and contribute new data, such as creating RFIs and Submittals. Read-Only users can see project data, but do not have the ability to create or edit information in Procore, while "None" users do not even see the specific Procore tool for which that status is designated. Administrator users have the ability to set overall permissions within a project or company's instance of Procore.

Procore's ability to set user permissions at the individual tool level is so unusual in the construction software industry that many users do not realize what flexibility this provides for their construction project management efforts. Tool-level permissions mean that every user only sees or does exactly what you want them to -- if you want a project team member to be an Administrator on one project, but not even see that another Procore project exists, you can make that setting with a couple of clicks. If an architect should have access to the RFI tab on a project, but not see the Submittals tab at all, those settings can easily be made within Procore. All of this permission functionality is standard with Procore, and all of the settings are configurable by your Company or Project Administrator, with just a few minutes of training from Procore's account implementation team.

Procore's Directory tool also provides the interface to decide what emails and system notifications Procore sends to each of an organization's Procore users. Users can be set to always receive email notifications regarding RFIs, punchlist items, and submittals, or they can elect to receive those notifications only on a "one-off" basis. In a similar fashion, users can be designated to always be copied on emails containing a project's weekly schedule, schedule changes, weather delays and other communications related to project progress.

Getting data into Procore's Directory tool is simple. Procore construction project management software can easily import both individuals and company information into the Directory using industry-standard Comma Separated Values (CSV) format. Directory data can also be exported for use in other applications by using the CSV format. Procore allows for viewing Directory data by individuals, by company, or even by distribution groups that can be quickly configured within the tool.
